This research paper addresses the role of the local authorities in the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, as well as the impact of new legislation, draft legislation or planned reforms on the regions, including new functions and powers of local authorities, challenges and opportunities such impact involves.
The paper proposes analysis of the regional policy related to integration of the environmental obligations under the Association Agreement, as well as analysis of the role of decentralization process in implementation of the environmental dimension of the Association Agreement.
