Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2022 has significant consequences for the country: destroyed infrastructure, immense impact on the environment, and millions of internally displaced persons. Ukraine is already making plans for post-war reconstruction after victory. Our task is to contribute to the green post-war recovery and development of Ukraine.

Climate policy is a cross-cutting issue of our work on green post-war reconstruction and support for the EU accession negotiation process. The issue of climate change is a central element of the European Green Deal and part of the EU acquis. The development of an effective climate governance architecture in Ukraine is an integral element of the green transition, green post-war reconstruction and accession to the EU.
